Opportunity of a lifetime

Gonna play 16 song with ex-Stooge James Williamson this Saturday night. It's the first time in 35 years that he's played onstage. We're getting him in shape for his return to the Stooges (Iggy and the Stooges, anyhow) next summer after Ron Asheton's death this year. Much respect to Ron, always. We're even fortunate enough to have Steve Mackay, the original sax-man from Funhouse, sweating it out with us. I never in a million years thought I could ask people MC5 stories that I actually believed. Mackay could go on all night about those guys...he was there for all of it. Unreal.

The set list will be a mix of Raw Power tunes, Funhouse, and even some tracks from Iggy and James' "Kill City" record. Never, ever, ever forget the intensity and power James brought to the table. Some 'Punk history books" paint James as a super-dick, but he's the nicest fuckin' guy I've met in a long time and has no bad blood or beef w/ anybody anymore. Solid.

I know he will bring it when they do their summer tour, starting at ATP in England. No doubt in my mind. The dude is ripping it up already.

If you're in Nor Cal, come on out. If you can't make it, download Raw Power here and turn it the fuck UP.
